Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, is about to get a little sweeter with The Confection Co-op.
Our love of scones, muffins and waffles are coming soon to our case along with our new 9 a.m. “early” bird hours for customers who want to start their day off with a little coffee and morning treat.
Who doesn’t love a scone? Scones originated in the UK as a single serving cake or quick bread but has evolved into a breakfast item that has a different look everywhere you see them. The original scone was round and sometimes the size of a medium sized plate made with raisons or cheeses to give a sweet and savory flavor. The Scottish took it one step further and called their treat a “girdle scone” before frying it. But no matter how you eat it either with tea or coffee, a scone is a great addition to a morning routine and The Confection Co-op offers a sweet and savory option.
Muffins for everyone! For those of you who want a different breakfast treat, why not try our traditional muffins. Add some frosting on and it resembles a cupcake, but the perk of a morning muffin is when it’s warm and fresh out of the oven it is all you need.
Waffles in a bakery? Of course! Waffles have quite the history and have been loved as far back as medieval times. Waffles have evolved over time but are eaten in countries all over the world and can be served in many different ways. Whether you like a dab of butter or smothering of whip cream and syrup it is a staple in many morning routines and surprisingly when rolled up can make a great on-the-go option.
We look forward to seeing you a bit earlier than normal!!
